Flu Vaccinations 2018

This year our drop-in clinics for flu vaccinations will be on 11th, 17th and 30th October from 1pm until 6pm.

Due to demand and supply issues we are running additional drop in sessions on the 26th of November (4pm-6pm) & 28th of November (1pm-4pm)

No appointments are necessary and the vaccine is free for eligible patients.

Check-In at Reception...

When you attend the drop in session please 'check in' and get a 'ticket' from the receptionist. This is because, unlike previous years, the nurses are giving two different flu vaccinations. The ticket reception gives you will tell the nurse which vaccine you are eligible for.

Prepare clothing...

To help us vaccinate patients as quickly as possible it would be helpful if you could remove any coats and jumpers prior to seeing the nurse. We will be vaccinating in the left arm - so please think about suitable clothing to help easily expose this area.

To accommodate the number of patients we need to vaccinate the nurses will be giving the vaccinations in the waiting room. If you feel uncomfortable with this, please let us know in advance and we will try to accommodate you as best we can at an alternative time and/or date.

Help us to spread the word...

Last year we were proud to achieved the highest flu vaccine uptake in Bassetlaw - and we're really eager to do the same again this year!

Could you help encourage your eligible friends and family to attend? For those of you who use social media such as Facebook we now have free NHS WiFi at the surgery, and a Practice  Page - why not 'check-in' and share that you've had your vaccination with us?

What if I'm not eligible for a free vaccine?

Unfortunately we can only vaccinate patient who meet the eligibility criteria. We are unable to charge patients and provide the vaccination privately. However, local pharmacies can - we suggest you give them a call to check if they have the vaccine in stock - and don't forget to ask how much they charge!
